It is hard to guess what a Scrub hare weights. But we have the answer:
An adult Scrub hare (Lepus saxatilis) on average weights 2.6 kg (5.73 lbs).
The Scrub hare is from the family Leporidae (genus: Lepus). It is usually born with about 98 grams (0.22 lbs). When reaching adult age, they grow up to 49.5 cm (1′ 8″). On average, Scrub hares can have babies 5 times per year with a litter size of 1.
As a reference: An average human weights in at 62 kg (137 lbs) and reaches an average size of 1.65m (5′ 5″). Humans spend 280 days (40 weeks) in the womb of their mother and reach around 75 years of age.
The scrub hare (Lepus saxatilis) is one of two subspecies of hares found in southern Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho. Although it is listed as a least critical species, the population has been declining and is expected to decline by 20% until the year 2104. The species is endemic to southern Africa and has not been seen in any other geographic locations around the world.
