It is hard to guess what a Pampas fox weights. But we have the answer:
An adult Pampas fox (Lycalopex gymnocercus) on average weights 4.54 kg (10.01 lbs).
The Pampas fox is from the family Canidae (genus: Lycalopex). They can live for up to 13.67 years. When reaching adult age, they grow up to 61.9 cm (2′ 1″). Usually, Pampas foxs have 3 babies per litter.
As a reference: An average human weights in at 62 kg (137 lbs) and reaches an average size of 1.65m (5′ 5″). Humans spend 280 days (40 weeks) in the womb of their mother and reach around 75 years of age.
The pampas fox (Lycalopex gymnocercus), also known as grey pampean fox, pampas zorro, Azara’s fox, or Azara’s zorro (in Spanish also called aguará chaí, anglicized as aguarachay), is a medium-sized zorro, or “false” fox, native to the South American pampas. Azara in some of its alternative common names is a reference to Spanish naturalist Félix de Azara.
