It is hard to guess what a Patas monkey weights. But we have the answer:
An adult Patas monkey (Erythrocebus patas) on average weights 7.99 kg (17.61 lbs).
The Patas monkey is from the family Cercopithecidae (genus: Erythrocebus). It is usually born with about 623 grams (1.37 lbs). They can live for up to 23.83 years. When reaching adult age, they grow up to 66.5 cm (2′ 3″). Usually, Patas monkeys have 1 babies per litter.
As a reference: An average human weights in at 62 kg (137 lbs) and reaches an average size of 1.65m (5′ 5″). Humans spend 280 days (40 weeks) in the womb of their mother and reach around 75 years of age.
The patas monkey (Erythrocebus patas), also known as the wadi monkey or hussar monkey, is a ground-dwelling monkey distributed over semi-arid areas of West Africa, and into East Africa. It was formerly considered the only member of the genus Erythrocebus, but the Blue Nile patas monkey, previously synonymized with this species, was resurrected in 2018.
