What is the maximal age a Siberian ibex reaches?
An adult Siberian ibex (Capra sibirica) usually gets as old as 22.25 years.
Siberian ibexs are around 175 days in the womb of their mother. When born, they weight 3.64 kg (8.02 lbs) and measure 37.5 cm (1′ 3″). They are a member of the Bovidae family (genus: Capra). Fully grown, they reach a bodylength of 1.2 meter (4′ 0″).
As a reference: Usually, humans get as old as 100 years, with the average being around 75 years. After being carried in the belly of their mother for 280 days (40 weeks), they grow to an average size of 1.65m (5′ 5″) and weight in at 62 kg (137 lbs), which is obviously highly individual.
The Siberian ibex (Capra sibirica), also known as the Altai ibex or Gobi ibex, is a species of ibex that lives in central Asia. It has traditionally been treated as a subspecies of the Alpine ibex, and whether it is specifically distinct from other ibex is still not entirely clear. It is the longest and heaviest member of the genus Capra, though its shoulder height is surpassed by the markhor.
