An adult Meller’s mongoose (Rhynchogale melleri) on average weights 2.24 kg (4.94 lbs).
The Meller’s mongoose is from the family Herpestidae (genus: Rhynchogale). When reaching adult age, they grow up to 46 cm (1′ 7″). Usually, Meller’s mongooses have 2 babies per litter.
As a reference: An average human weights in at 62 kg (137 lbs) and reaches an average size of 1.65m (5′ 5″). Humans spend 280 days (40 weeks) in the womb of their mother and reach around 75 years of age.
Meller’s mongoose (Rhynchogale melleri) is a species of mongoose found in Africa. It occurs in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is the only member of the genus Rhynchogale.
