It is hard to guess what a Corsac fox weights. But we have the answer:
An adult Corsac fox (Vulpes corsac) on average weights 2.62 kg (5.77 lbs).
The Corsac fox is from the family Canidae (genus: Vulpes). It is usually born with about 63 grams (0.14 lbs). When reaching adult age, they grow up to 58 cm (1′ 11″). Usually, Corsac foxs have 5 babies per litter.
As a reference: An average human weights in at 62 kg (137 lbs) and reaches an average size of 1.65m (5′ 5″). Humans spend 280 days (40 weeks) in the womb of their mother and reach around 75 years of age.
The corsac fox (Vulpes corsac), also known simply as a corsac, is a medium-sized fox found in steppes, semi-deserts and deserts in Central Asia, ranging into Mongolia and northeastern China. Since 2004, it has been classified as least concern by IUCN, but populations fluctuate significantly, and numbers can drop tenfold within a single year.It is also known as the steppe fox, and sometimes referred to as the “sand fox”, but this terminology is confusing because two other species, the Tibetan sand fox and Rüppell’s fox, are also sometimes known by this name. The word “corsac” is derived from the Russian name for the animal, “korsák” (корса́к), derived ultimately from Turkic “karsak”.
