How old does a Chacoan peccary get? (age expectancy)

What is the maximal age a Chacoan peccary reaches?

An adult Chacoan peccary (Catagonus wagneri) usually gets as old as 9 years.

Chacoan peccarys are around 152 days in the womb of their mother. When born, they weight 600 grams (1.32 lbs) and measure 1.7 cm (0′ 1″). As a member of the Tayassuidae family (genus: Catagonus), their offspring is 2 babies per pregnancy. Fully grown, they reach a bodylength of 1.03 meter (3′ 5″).

As a reference: Usually, humans get as old as 100 years, with the average being around 75 years. After being carried in the belly of their mother for 280 days (40 weeks), they grow to an average size of 1.65m (5′ 5″) and weight in at 62 kg (137 lbs), which is obviously highly individual.

The Chacoan peccary or tagua (Catagonus wagneri) is the last extant species of the genus Catagonus; it is a peccary found in the Gran Chaco of Paraguay, Bolivia, and Argentina. Approximately 3,000 remain in the world. It is believed to be the closest living relative to the extinct genus Platygonus. The Chacoan peccary has the unusual distinction of having been first described in 1930 based on fossils and was originally thought to be an extinct species. In 1971, the animal was discovered to still be alive in the Chaco region, in the Argentine province of Salta. The species was well known to the native people, but it took a while for scientists to acknowledge its existence. It is known locally as the tagua.
