It is hard to guess what a Heart-nosed bat weights. But we have the answer:
An adult Heart-nosed bat (Cardioderma cor) on average weights 26 grams (0.06 lbs).
The Heart-nosed bat is from the family Megadermatidae (genus: Cardioderma). When reaching adult age, they grow up to 74.1 cm (2′ 6″). On average, Heart-nosed bats can have babies 2 times per year with a litter size of 1.
As a reference: An average human weights in at 62 kg (137 lbs) and reaches an average size of 1.65m (5′ 5″). Humans spend 280 days (40 weeks) in the womb of their mother and reach around 75 years of age.
The heart-nosed bat (Cardioderma cor) is a species of bat in the family Megadermatidae. It is monotypic within the genus Cardioderma. It is found in eastern Sudan, north Tanzania, and south Zambia. In an experiment conducted in 2017, it was concluded that the heart-nosed bat emit vocalizations or “sing” as a way to establish their foraging areas and actively defend these territories from other bats of the same species.
